SOCIAL ENTERPRISE UK (SEUK)
We launched a national media campaign to champion the vital role that UK social enterprises played in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure their survival. The campaign was motivated by the realisation that many social enterprises fell between the gaps of government emergency business funding and rescue packages, despite their importance to the UK’s economic recovery and to supporting communities and the vulnerable. SEUK estimated half of the UK’s SE businesses could be out of funds and out of business by June.
During the media campaign, several proactive and reactive PR moments were leveraged; SEUK’s letter to the Chancellor, the announcement of Coop’s signature of this letter, the release of £150m funds from dormant accounts, with £30m allocated to the SE sector and the real stories of social enterprises across the UK pivoting to meet new community needs.
Coverage was achieved across National, Regional news across print, digital, broadcast and social.
